We are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic Assistant Director of Food & Beverage professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.
As an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage you are responsible to ensure that all Food & Beverage outlets, Conference and Banqueting operations are managed as successful independent profit centres, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and consistency and will include key responsibilities such as:
- To take overall responsibility for the Food & Beverage Department in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.
- To monitor guest feedback in relation to service, products and promotions and reviews according with the Food & Beverage Manager.
- To oversee all the training activities of the Food & Beverage Department in conjunction with the Human Resource Manager/Training Manager.
- To review and control the weekly payroll and overtime sheets for all the Food & Beverage outlets and monitors according to the budgets established.
- To consult all outlet managers on operating requirements and quality standards.
- To be proactive during service peak times maintaining a highly visible profile in outlets.
- To confer with the Food & Beverage Manager on reports, forecasts, budget, marketing plan, festivals and special promotions.
- To interview candidates for Food & Beverage service vacancies in categories D & E in conjunction with the Human Resources Department and the outlet manager concerned.
- To suggest FF&E replacements/additions for the department to the Food & Beverage Manager.
- To assist in taking storeroom and bar inventories in the absence of the Food & Beverage cost accountant.
- To work with accounts department to oversee physical inventories, analyse specialized reports, slow moving items and low stock list and productivity norms.
- To keep abreast of competitive trends, new products, legislation.
- To ensure competitive edge and the departments comply to local regulations.
Skills
Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You should be a college / university degree graduate with a minimum of two years experiences in a similar role with preferable previous experiences in the Middle East. You must be a computer literate with effective communication skills and an excellent command of written and spoken English.
Knowledge & Competencies
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with a solid food & beverage background and the passion for quality and excellence. You will be creative and eager to share your desire to achieve highest quality service standards with guests and team members and you should possess following competencies:
- Proven food and beverage management experience
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
- Mastery in delegating multiple tasks.
- Communication and leadership skills.
- Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices.
- Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets.
- Guest-oriented and service-minded.
- Culinary school diploma or degree in food service management or related field.
