Corporate Office - Internal Audit Manager

Job Description

We are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of internal audit service and assist in enhancing the internal controls of the various departments of Rotana.

As a Internal Audit Manager you are responsible for all the aspects of the Internal Audit Department of the Rotana Corporate Office. The position ensures that internal audits are adequately scoped, executed and results communicated to departments in an efficient, effective and timely manner. The focus of the position is to ensure that the IAD functions in a smooth and efficient manner including being a strong support to enhancing departmental and corporate controls. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:

• Assess and understand the internal audit universe

• Understand Company and departmental objectives through meetings with various department heads

• Analyse risks for each objective determined

• Rate risks based on the risk analysis performed and through input by management. Apply the

5x5 risk rating approach

• Prepare a Risk Assessment based on the results of the risk ratings

• Update the Risk Assessment schedule on an annual basis

• Create a risk based internal audit plan for approval by the Director of Internal Audit

• Prepare a documentation summarising the annual internal audit plan including timing and budgets for review and approval by the Audit Committee

• Execute and perform internal audits based on the approved internal audit plan by the Audit

Committee

• Educate other departments in respect of the importance of internal audit to ensure they understand the importance of its role to the Company

• Draft internal audit reports based on work performed and discuss with department head and obtain their comments

• Ensure a final draft is approved by Director, Internal Audit before it is sent for review to the

COO/CEO

• Develop best practice methods to conduct internal audits including using latest software tools and techniques

• Assist management in special audits as requested by them including visits to properties, if required

• Conduct follow-up audits to ensure recommendations accepted by departments are being

implemented on a timely basis

• Coach and train junior staff to make their learning experience meaningful and beneficial to them and to Rotana

• Attend external training programs of benefit to the IAD and to transfer the knowledge gained

to junior staff

• Conduct training to existing and new team members to maintain and continuously improve th quality of the IAD

• Provide suggestion for improvement, and identify barriers to its success, and ways to overcom

these

• Conduct annual assessment of self and staff for review and approval by Director, Internal Audit

Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should have a proven knowledge and previous experience in the internal audit of hotels including of an Operator. You should be Microsoft Office literate with the ability to create effective presentations. A good command of written and spoken English and the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines is essential.
