Job Description


Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Steward to join our team at Onyx Arjaan by Rotana-Manama, Bahrain. The Chief Steward will be responsible for the stewarding department and ensuring the cleanliness and proper organization of all food and beverage areas. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent attention to, and the ability to work with diverse cultures.

Job Responsibility:
- Manage and supervise a team of stewards, ensuring they are trained and motivated to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of all food and beverage areas, including the kitchen, dining areas, and storage spaces.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain high standards.
- Monitor the inventory of kitchen and dining supplies, including tableware, utensils, and cleaning chemicals, and place orders as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the culinary team and banquet operations, to ensure efficient coordination and smooth operations.
- Conduct inspections to identify areas for improvement and address any maintenance or equipment issues.
- Train stewards on proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning equipment.
- Maintain records of cleaning schedules, inventory, and staff attendance and performance.

Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chief Steward or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills effectively and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational time.
- Attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Knowledge of health and safety related to food and beverage operations.
- Ability to work well under pressure in environment-, verbal with management systems knowledge storage and handling techniques for kitchen and dining supplies.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.

- Strong organizational and time management skills to efficiently plan and supervise activities in the stewarding department.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and train a team of stewards.
- Proficient knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while attention to detail.
- Problem-solving to quickly and efficiently address any issues or challenges that may in the stewarding department.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with other departments and personnel within the organization.
- Knowledge of inventory management to efficiently track and control the usage of stewarding supplies and equipment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, required.
- Physical stamina and endurance to handle the demands of the, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in hot and humid conditions.
- Familiarity with relevant technology and computer applications to assist in managing inventory, scheduling, and reporting within the stewarding department.
