Job Summary:
The Commis I is responsible for assisting in the preparation of high-quality meals in accordance with the established standards and recipes. They will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Job Responsibility:
1. Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes as per the required recipes and standards.
2. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all ingredients and equipment are properly stored and labeled.
3. Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines in all food preparation and handling processes.
4. Monitor and record food temperatures during cooking and cooling to ensure food safety standards are met.
5. Coordinate and communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
6. Follow recipes accurately, ensuring portion control and quality of presentation.
7. Assist in receiving and storing of food and supplies appropriately.
8. Participate in cross-training and learning opportunities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Commis or a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
2. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
3. Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work under and team-oriented environment.
6. Flexibility to work in shifts and weekends.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
