Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Commis II to join our culinary team. As a Commis II, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of various dishes in accordance with the established recipes and standards. You will work alongside experienced chefs and will have the opportunity to further develop your skills.
Job Responsibility:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a wide variety of food items, ensuring that they are done in a timely manner and in accordance with the established recipes and quality standards
- Help in setting up food stations and ensuring that all necessary ingredients and equipment are available and in good working condition
- Clean and sanitize work areas, including equipment, utensils, and food storage areas, to maintain a safe and hygienic culinary environment
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handling and storage of ingredients, to prevent foodborne illnesses
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and menu items, taking into consideration customer preferences and dietary restrictions
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commis II or in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
