Job Description


Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will assist in overseeing the kitchen operations and collaborate with the Executive and Sous Chefs to create and execute innovative menus that meet the highest quality and presentation standards.

Job Responsibility:
- Assist in the coordination and execution of daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.
- Collaborate with the Executive and Sous Chefs to design and develop new menus, ensuring adherence to culinary standards and guest expectations.
- Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Train, mentor and support junior kitchen staff members, including cooks and apprentices, to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
- Supervise food storage, inventory, and procurement to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, cooking, and storage techniques.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as banquet and catering, to ensure smooth operation and successful execution of all culinary offerings.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, techniques, and ingredients to continually enhance culinary offerings.
- Perform any other duties by the Executive or Sous Chefs.

Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and practices.
- Excellent cooking and plating skills with a focus on quality, taste, and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively in a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff and other departments.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation and experimentation.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
