Job Description


Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and the delivery of high-quality meals. The ideal candidate should be passionate about cooking, have excellent culinary skills, and have the ability to lead and manage a team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and coordinating the menu, taking into consideration dietary restrictions, special requests, and food trends
- Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, ensuring that they are of high quality, visually appealing, and served in a timely manner
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including setting work schedules, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and feedback
- Monitor food storage, inventory, and ordering to maintain adequate supplies and minimize waste
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen, including proper sanitation and food handling procedures
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and other sous chefs to develop new recipes, refine existing ones, and improve overall kitchen operations
- Stay up to date with culinary trends and techniques, attending workshops and training sessions as required
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, and motivating staff to perform at their best

Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen
- Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding various techniques and ingredients
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and coordinate multiple tasks
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen operations
- Creativity and the ability to develop innovative recipes and adapt to changing food trends
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- A degree or diploma in culinary arts is preferred, but not required
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the needs of the business
