Summary:
A Chef Tournant, also known as a relief chef, is responsible for overseeing a specific department or station within a kitchen. They provide support to the head chef by ensuring high-quality food production and maintaining consistency in recipes and standards.
Job Responsibility:
1. Assist the executive chef in developing menus and creating new dishes.
2. Supervise and train kitchen staff in their designated station.
3. Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the recipes and standards set by the head chef.
4. Maintain cleanliness and organization in their station and the overall kitchen.
5. Monitor food supplies and place orders when needed.
6. Handle food preparation, cooking, and plating during service hours.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience working in various kitchen stations.
2. In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
3. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
4. Strong communication and leadership skills.
5. Certification from a culinary school or equivalent work experience.
