Summary:
A Commis 1 is responsible for assisting the chef de partie and sous chef in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a smooth kitchen operation.
Job Responsibility:
1. Assisting in the preparation of ingredients for cooking.
2. Cooking and preparing menu items according to the chef's instructions.
3. Ensuring food quality and presentation meet set standards.
4. Maintaining a clean and organized work station.
5. Adhering to food safety standards and regulations.
6. Assisting in inventory management and stock rotation.
7. Collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
8. Following recipes accurately to maintain consistency.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Commis or line cook in a similar role.
2. Knowledge of various cooking techniques and ingredients.
3. Understanding of food safety practices.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
6. Diploma or certification in culinary arts is a plus.
7. Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
