Environment, Health and Safety Officer (Food Safety Background)

Summary:
We are looking for an Environment, Health and Safety Officer with a background in Food Safety to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the workplace. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols, conducting safety training, and managing food safety standards.

Job Responsibility:
- Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as food handling, personal protective equipment, and emergency response
- Investigate accidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety and environmental protection
- Monitor and report on key safety performance indicators
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety culture and reduce workplace risks

Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Food Science, or a related field
- Relevant certification in Food Safety (e.g. HACCP, ISO 22000) is highly preferred
- Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in the food industry
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
