Teatro, the renowned specialty outlet at Park Rotana Abu Dhabi, is seeking a talented and passionate Specialty Outlet chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a rich background in high-end steak, sushi and Asian cuisine, with a flair for creativity and innovation in the kitchen.
As a Specialty Outlet Chef, you are responsible for the smooth operation of the outlet kitchen with emphasis on quality, presentation within the guidelines of the standardized menus, and employee training and head up our significant restaurant, whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:
• Lead and manage the kitchen operations for Teatro, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation by conducting regular taste test and quality checks.
• Design and execute a diverse menu that reflects expertise in steak, sushi, and Asian cooking techniques.
• Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to enhance the dining experience and uphold the outlet's reputation for excellence.
• Mentor and train the culinary team, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the kitchen. Monitor expenses and work to achieve financial targets.
• Ensure HACCP standards are always implemented and follow the appropriate hygiene standards as per Municipality requirements
• Ensure consistent on the job training session for culinary colleagues and promote health and safety
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a chef specializing in steak, sushi, and Asian cuisine, preferably in a high-end dining environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Creative and excellent culinary skills with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Team plater with a positive attitude.
Skills
Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You should have a professional kitchen apprenticeship or chefs training course and at least five years experiences in quality establishments along with excellent specialized culinary skills and minimum 2 years experiences in supervisory role. The ability to communicate well in English and a proven track of food preparation, presentation and preservation knowledge is an essential. Fine dining experience is preferred.
