Upholsterer

We are currently seeking for passionate and dynamic guest focused Housekeeping professionals who pride themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solutions to our guests.

As an Upholsterer you are responsible to repair and rebuild upholstered furniture, using hand tools with a wide knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods and your role will include key responsibilities such as:

• Operate sewing machine to seam cushions and join various sections of covering materials
• Repair seats, sofas, curtains, carpet and mattresses
• Gather and assemble specified upholstery materials and accessories for upholstered furniture
• Ensure that the upholstery workshop is tidy and clean
• Keep inventory record of the stored upholstery items
• Maintain machines and equipments in good condition at all times
• Maintain upholstery in all outlets, lobby, corridor and guestrooms
• Organize and take inventory of all fabric materials and sewing accessories
• Ensure that the fabric materials that used in making the upholstery is correct
• Assume duties and task assigned by Superiors

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team. The Upholsterer will be responsible for repairing and replacing upholstery for various furniture pieces, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Job Responsibility:
1. Repairing and replacing damaged padding, springs, and fabric on furniture pieces.
2. Matching fabrics and colors to existing pieces for seamless repairs.
3. Measuring, cutting, and sewing fabric to fit furniture pieces accurately.
4. Upholding high standards of quality and craftsmanship in all upholstery work.
5. Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition and following safety protocols.

Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience as an Upholsterer or in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in using upholstery tools such as staple guns, sewing machines, and scissors.
3. Attention to detail and the ability to match fabrics and colors accurately.
4. Strong physical stamina and dexterity for handling furniture pieces.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects within deadlines.

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should ideally have a technical education in upholstery with previous experiences in a similar role, preferably within the Housekeeping Department within a hotel. Good command of English is an advantage.
